Final Stop: Disneyland!!

After three days in Newport we headed to Disneyland!!!

Once again we enjoyed nice weather and had a great day. Here we are waiting for the parade to start.
It was a little crowed, but not too bad. The kids were good sports about having to wait in lines.

In the middle of the day, when it got hot, we went inside the Innoventions building where there was a Marvel Comic exhibit. All the kids, but especially Owen and Preston, loved roaming around in there checking out all the superhero stuff. Plus there were plenty of video games on display for the kids to play with and video games are always a hit with my three! It was nice to get a little break from the crowds and the heat.

This is the first time Preston has been old enough to really appreciate Disneyland and the characters. He was obsessed with them! It was adorable. I felt bad that I wasn't able to take him to see more, but at least he got to see Mickey, he is the ultimate character right!?
Riding the carousal!
You always know it's a great day when the kids fall asleep at the end of it!
After a full day our Spring Break trip was officially over. We headed home where we spent the remainder of our days off from school.

Love To See The (Newport Beach) Temple

We spent our last afternoon in Newport visiting the temple grounds. I love the Newport Temple because it's pink.....well pretty close to pink. It's so unique.
Let me just say, Preston can be a little stinker sometimes and won't let me take his picture!!

After splashing in the fountains for awhile and getting soaking wet, the kids started getting bored and were ready to go until they spotted some bunnies hopping around on the grass. Oh boy!! Those bunnies kept them entertained for the longest time! We followed those bunnies all over the place, and the kids got so excited when one got close. We ended up being at the temple for well over an hour because of those bunnies.

After the temple we headed back to the hotel to get some rest for the last leg of our trip.

Hotel Fun

While in Newport on our spring break trip, we stayed at this really fun hotel. Not only did it have two bedrooms, so the kids had their own room and Spencer and I had  our own room but there was a kitchen and living room too. There was an amazing kids club and plenty of crafts and activities for the kids, and really lots for the entire family to do!

It was after St. Patrick's Day, but close enough I guess. The kids made these in the kids club one morning.
There was a couple of fun pools to swim in. The kids spent plenty of time swimming!

Family Luau Afternoon. We made flower leis and participated in a hula hoop competition. Preston wasn't a huge fan of the Luau, but the rest of us were!

The hotel was so great, we could have spent our whole Spring Break just at the hotel, but there was plenty more fun to be had.

Spring Break Take 1

The weather has been so perfect here, so for Spring Break we decided to take a trip down to Newport Beach. On our first day we hit the beach!! Corona Del Mar, is always a favorite for our family. The Guerreros and Cooks met us there, so there were lots of kids for our kids to play with. The kids were entertained the whole day by the water, sand, and friends.
Jackson, Owen, and Audrey. Owen is finally getting brave at the beach and will actually get more than just his feet in the water. Audrey, of course, has always been a little daredevil!

Digging holes in the sand
Even Preston enjoys the beach. It's nice to have something we all enjoy doing together!

I told you Owen was starting to get brave! Spencer taught him the basics of boogie boarding. He loved it and couldn't get enough! Granted he did stay right near the shore and just rode the tiny little waves, but it was a huge step for Owen!!

Best Buddies for 7 years now! Owen and Jackson
I wish I would have gotten some pictures of the adults, but we had a great time too. It's always a good time when the kids are entertained and we're free to talk as we please. Fun was had by all today. A beautiful day at the beach and a great start to our Spring Break Vacation!

A Day of Green

Ahh, St. Patrick's Day, one of my favorite holidays, probably because it's so under the radar. I love celebrating with the kids. They were surprised to find that a little leprechaun visited our house and scattered coins all over the house! The kids thought it was fantastic to go around picking up money from off the floor.
\
They were also pleased to see that there were a few green gifts hidden around the house as well.
The loot!!
(Hey, how did Valentine's Day candy get in there?? Hmmm? Maybe mom hid them so well, she didn't find them until St. Patrick's Day? Maybe that happened?)

After collecting all the coins and finding the green surprises, we had a green dinner of tortellini with pesto sauce, green grapes, salad, and chips and guacamole. All that usually doesn't go together, but it does on St. Patrick's Day!
One of the kids wasn't thrilled with his dinner, can you guess which one?

Cute kids in green!!
We ended the night by going to McDonald's for Shamrock Shakes.
Happy St. Patrick's Day!

5th Birthday Celebration

Our little princess turned 5 today!! Hard to believe she's five already.
Audrey and her pink princess bundt cake she picked out all by herself.
Make a wish and blow out your candles!

Opening her gifts!

We kept the day super simple, but sometimes simple makes for the best days. We invited her friends Jenna and Tagert over for lunch, cake & ice cream, presents, and playing. The kids had a blast, as they always do when these 5 are all together. Audrey loved the Doc Mobile that Spencer and I gave her. The kids played with it the rest of the day. It was such a low-key celebration, but it turned out to be the perfect birthday!
Happy 5th Birthday Audrey Girl!!

Spring Training

Spencer spent the last 4 days in Arizona at the Angel's Spring Training with Paul, Kevin, and Scott. I was left at home to hold down the fort. It's hard to do it all on my own, but I know Spencer just loves this trip so I can suck it up and handle things at home for a few days.
Here are a few pictures from his trip. Since I wasn't there, I can't really write about it. I do know that they eat at restaurants featured on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives and other Food Network shows, get a ton of autographs, and harass various baseball players. They go to Wal-Mart at the end of each day to print pictures they took that day to take back and try to get autographed the next day. Scott tells a lot of stories that they all can't get enough of, especially Paul. It's a total guys trip.

I guess Will Ferrell showed up at a couple of the games dressed as a baseball player. This is him in the picture above and below. Made spring training just a little bit more exciting!
I'm glad Spencer is home safe and sound now.
